WE ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNDLE OF SAMSKARAS

Today we are the product of every action and every thought of the past. Nothing is ever destroyed – it is there eternally. All our actions and thoughts are retained within our memory, and these are what we call samskaras. We are nothing but a bundle of samskaras, which has found its expression in mental and physical form.

Samskaras cannot be destroyed. The samskaras or thought forms that we discard go where they are most attracted. That is why if you keep on thinking negative thoughts, negative thoughts will be attracted to you. If you think positive thoughts, then positive thoughts will come to you. So where do they come from? You draw to you those that have been discarded by other individual minds – you become a magnet of attraction . . . and that is how negativity increases. Everything is forever existent – nothing is ever destroyed, not even a single thought, not even a single samskara.

Everyone, consciously or unconsciously, desires peace. Yet the underlying factor that blocks peace and obstructs happiness is samskaras.
